Measurement Equipment

Reliable measurement data are essential to provide our clients with sound advice. That is why WaterProof has an extensive range of specialist measuring instruments for measurements in the coastal zone, offshore and underwater. By combining our theoretical knowledge with hands-on measurement experience, we gain insight into the dynamics of the marine system and can support our advice with practical data.

Measuring from practice

WaterProof has 120+ measuring instruments for a wide range of applications. Depending on the research question, we select a suitable measurement setup and combine different measurement methods. Our measurements include water movement, waves, water levels, morphology, water quality, sediment and underwater sound.

Because we know which measurement data are needed to address a specific question, we carry out many of our measurements ourselves using our own specialist equipment. We have three survey boats and can also deploy our equipment from our clients’ vessels.

From measurement data to insight

We use the collected data to better understand processes, perform analyses and support and validate our numerical models. By combining measurements and modelling, we can test our calculations against real-world conditions and increase the reliability of our results.

This combination of measuring, modelling and advising enables us to provide our clients with well-founded and solution-oriented advice. Whether it concerns a short-term measurement campaign or long-term monitoring, for each project we determine which equipment, measurement strategy and setup best match the research question.
